Goodbye Fiji!

After travelling around the Pacific for more than 4 months, we had decided it was enough and we made our plans to go to Asia. First of all we had to cancel our Samoa flight and forget about Tokelau. Forgetting about Tokalau after Tarawa was easy and it also turned out it was very easy to cancel a flight with Air Pacific. Our flight to Auckland was also easily arranged so everything looked to go smoothly. But then there was the bump…the flight from Auckland to Hong Kong could only be scheduled on the 18th of April and not a day sooner. That meant we were going to be stuck in New Zealand for 3 weeks. Well, if that was the only bump, we would go for it!
So on Friday we had made our decision and actions on it and there was only a weekend to spent in Fiji. Strange and even there is so much to look forward to, we felt a bit sad. Especially because it also meant we had to leave Mama’s…
On our last day Mama had a special day for us and after a amazing breakfast we had a lazy day and in the evening we had a awesome farewell diner with mama and the staff. A dinner never to forget! Mama’s tropic of Capricorn always feels like home but during the last months it really became our home and that made us also very sad when it was time to leave. But it is not a real farewell as I am sure we will be back in the future.

In the early morning on Tuesday we left Fiji and in 3 hours time we touched down in Auckland. Luckily mother nature was nice to us and the weather was good. We checked in our favorite hotel in Auckland and the thinking about Asia begun…and is still going on. We have decided to stay in New Zealand until the 18th of April and not to search any longer for a flight earlier to Asia. Another 3 week holiday in New Zealand. After that? We don’t know. Hong Kong, Macau, China….we will see.
For now we would like to thank mama’s for the wonderful times and we cherish our time there. Vinaka Vaka Levu mama and we will see each other again!!
